Historically used in many different gardening styles, from early Roman gardens through to modern day. Topiary is the practice of training trees and shrubs into ornamental shapes by the clipping of foliage. This is to develop and maintain clearly defined shapes, whether geometric, fanciful or inspire to create their own piece of living architecture.
